AAAWA was established in 2004 with a mission to educate and suppport the community. There continues to be a growing need for linkage to services and resources in the community. It is our mission to bridge that gap. Many families due to lack of information find a themselves in a desparate situation while trying to effectively care for their loved ones.

Some services that we provide are as follows:

  • Free Senior Movie Matinee
  • The Family Bridge Program
  • Caregivers Support
  • Memory Screening
  • Depression Screening
  • Educational Workshops

We are privately funded and need your support as we continue to service our community. If you are interested in becoming a member please refer to the membership tab for membership information. If you would like to donate continue to the donate button and remember your gift is tax deductible.

  • "A Word From The CEO"

    Dear Supporter,

As an involved person in the community, our progress and success in helping our community is greatly due to you as a member and your passion for helping others. We believe that you have the passion that our community needs to continue to provide linkage, education and support. We hope to be able to count on your support of AAAWA by being a member in 2012.

Our members in the past have helped to provide services to 826 clients by providing services either through...
  • Supporting the Kustaafu Senior Arts program which is a respite program for caregivers and activity for early stage dementia clients.
  • Providing linkages to services through AAAWA’s Bridge Program
  • Reaching churches through our free seminars on disease prevention
  • By reaching professionals through educational programs
  • Also by providing Alzheimer’s education opportunities to over 1,699 individuals.

By joining AAAWA in 2012, you demonstrate a caring spirit toward this epidemic of Alzheimer’s in the community and a commitment to erasing some of the challenges and stress that comes with this devastating disease.

Your 100% tax deductible $25 membership goes toward programming to assist the many families directly effected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias.

Speaking for the many voices of thousands of families and caregivers in the community we say in advance “thanks” for your commitment and for making it possible to help everyone that calls on us for help!

    Sincerely,

    Kim S. Lawson
    CEO
